If you are a season pass holder, you will need to get a new Co-op specific season pass to use this season. Thanks! BVMCoop

The work continues up on the mountain and they posted pictures of a freshly mowed Cub Meadow on Facebook, so things are looking sharp up there! The BIG news this week is the launch of a new web site for Bear Valley and the unveiling of a new logo! See below and be sure to check out the web site. There are some areas still in process on the web site, but look for killer new info on lessons, teams, and Bear Valley for this upcoming season. Thanks to the Bear Valley and Skyline marketing teams for the hard work!
FAQ’s of the Week
The biggest questions we got this week over the web site and email had to do with getting ready for the upcoming season and member benefits. A new section for this weeks email is “Most popular FAQ’s”
1. How will they know I am a Co-op member at the resort?
Answer: Every co-op member will have a membership card that you will need to have in your possession in order to get benefits such as discounts at the mountain and at the village. We hope to mail these before the opening day on 11/29!
2. How do I get this years free passes for 13 and under kids?
Answer: For any members that already purchased passes for kids under 13, the mountain will be issuing a credit to co-op members that can be spent on anything up at the mountain (food, services, merchandise). Can you say Curly Fries? If you have NOT purchased your passes yet, please go to the season pass desk at the mountain and they will help you out!
3. When do I pay my $300 AMC (Annual Member Commitment)?
Answer: The AMC is NOT due the first year you become a member, so no AMC payments will need to be made until 2015! We consider your first year’s membership to qualify you for benefits automatically without the payment.
4. Do I get a credit for the co-op 15% discount on this seasons pass or locker that I already paid for?
Answer: No you will not. Early on in the Co-op membership drive we discussed this topic but it is good to bring up again. Due to the challenges in accounting, we are not able to process credits for the 15% discount on season passes or lockers if they have already been paid. For this reason, we are not collecting the required AMC payments the first year. You will get all applicable discounts on purchases you make on the mountain and village after you get your card! Sorry for any confusion out there!
We have not scheduled a date yet for ratification vote or board elections. Keep posted and we are getting closer to finalizing the documents and process. Thanks for the patience. Your Co-op board is working on marketing and events planning for the coming season so that we can keep all of you up to date on the happenings with the Co-op and collaboration with Skyline.
November 8th and 9th at San Jose Convention Center (http://www.snowbomb.com/ski-board-festivals/)
The Mountain staff and Co-op will be at the San Jose Convention Center Saturday and Sunday to generate excitement about Bear Valley and give away a LOT of T-shirts, day tickets, and season passes along with new information about Bear Valley, Skyline, and the Co-op. IF you want to hear it straight from the GM, Benno Nager, will be there for much of the time this coming weekend. Come by to meet the team and maybe pick up a new T-shirt or tickets!

How To Get Kids Passes and Other Benefits
We are working out the details with mountain staff and we will have a process in place by the end of October to connect Co-op members with the computer systems at Bear Valley Mountain Resort. If you have not purchased your season pass yet, please do so to assure you get Summer pricing (the 15% season pass discount starts next year). The resort has agreed to extended summer pass pricing ($399 v $499) through September for Co-op members as we work through the transition to smooth out any issues or confusion, but don't wait too long!
For Co-op members with kids 13 and under that have already purchased season passes for them, we are working out details on how to issue redeemable credits with the mountain, so stay tuned. If you have not purchased your kids passes yet, the mountain will create a way for you to sign up for those passes on line by the end of October.
